The 16 team Section 6AA boys basketball tournament begins Thursday night with first round games. The eight higher seeded teams will play at home.

With a win Tuesday night, the Sauk Centre girls basketball team has advanced to the Section 6AA championship game Friday night. Sauk Centre beat Annandale 72-43.
Sauk Centre had Cierra Kortan with 28 points. Kortan is now the all time leading scorer in Sauk Centre girls basketball with 2052. Kahlen Suelflow 13, Tory Jennissen 11.

The Defenders Afton Vogt takes 5th place at the State, winning her last match by a fall at 2:35.

At the State meet Saturday, Isaac Frericks lost his match by a fall at 4:31.
Afton Vogt lost her opening match 9-3. Vogt won her next match by a fall at 3:17.

At the State wrestling tournament Friday, the Defenders Isaac Frericks won his opening match by a fall. In the quarterfinals, Frericks lost 12-8. In the wrestle backs, Frericks won 1-0. He will wrestle again Saturday at #285 AA.
At the girls State wrestling tournament, Defenders freshman Afton Vogt will wrestle Saturday morning starting at 9:00 am at #124.
