Baseball 5/15/26

The Melrose baseball team took an early lead at Holdingford Friday. But Holdingford scored 6 runs in the 3rd and went on to beat Melrose 9-6 at Holdingford.
Melrose had RBI hits from Jackson Mayer, Carson Theiler, Tyler Nate and Zach Reiland.

Softball 5/15/26

A win to close out the regular season for the Sauk Centre softball team. Sauk Centre won at Osakis 7-3. Sauk Centre had 16 hits in the game. 3 hits each for Nadia Stadsvold, Jenna Riley, Lily Sunderman. 2 hits for Gabi Marthaler, Kendra Korton, Leah Peters. Jenna Riley gave up just 3 hits in the win.
The softball playoffs begin Monday. The seeding positions will come out Saturday morning.

Melrose scored their 6 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 6-0 lead. Sauk Centre didn't have a hit through the first 5 innings, then scored 9 on 7 hits in the 6th.

Softball Friday had St. Cloud Cathedral winning at Melrose 7-3.
Melrose took a 1-0 lead in the first as Kaitlyn Klasen singled to get on, then scored on a ground ball. In the 7th, Gabby Schoenberg with a lead off walk, Kaitlyn Klasen reached on an error. Allie Hoppe brought in both runners with a double.

The Melrose baseball team played at Pierz Friday. Pierz won the game 15-10.
Melrose had 16 hits in the game, Carson Theiler had 4 of them.
Trailing 11-4, Melrose scored 6 runs in the 6th. Nolan Fleischhacker brought in 2 with a double. Isaac Wiechman with a RBI hit.

Sauk Centre played two games in Sauk Centre. Kimball won the first game 8-3.
Sauk Centre took a 3-0 lead. Bentley Ritter doubled in a run.
But then, Kimball scored 6 runs in the 5th.

BOLD won the second game 10-4.

Melrose baseball 5/5/26

In the first game of a baseball double header at Melrose Tuesday, Montevideo beat Melrose 6-5.
Melrose took the lead with 4 runs in the 6th inning. Carson Theiler knocked in 2 runs with a hit, Jackson Mayers with a RBI double. Luke Funk had 2 hits.

Game 2: Melrose gave Montevideo their conference loss with a 4-2 win.
Melrose took a 2-0 lead with Zach Rieland bringing 2 runs with a base hit in the 6th.
Back to back doubles in the 7th put Melrose in front. Tyler Nathe doubled then a double from Nolan Fleischhacker drove in the run. A sac fly from Riley Elfering gave Melrose a 4-2 lead.

A 6 run 6th inning for the Melrose softball team in their win at home Monday over Albany 10-2. The inning was highlighted by a 3 run home run from JJ Mayers. Mayers had 3 hits in the game. Allie Hoppe with 2 hits, RBI, Aleah Funk 2 hits, Emalee Klasen had a two out RBI hit to give Melrose the lead in the 4th. Raelyn Frieler 2 hits, RBI. Kaitlyn Klasen struck out 7 in the win.

A good Section win for the Sauk Centre softball team Tuesday. Sauk Centre beat Holdingford 9-1 at the Sauk Centre field.
Trailing 1-0, Sauk Centre scored 6 runs in the 5th inning. Leah Peters knocked in 2 with a hit, Molly Cossette with a 2 run double. Peters had two hits, Jaden Lahr, Paige Determan and Kendra Korton had hits. Jenna Riley pitched the win.

The Melrose softball team went to BOLD Tuesday. BOLD won the game 3-0. Melrose did not have a hit off of Kaitlyn Flann.
