MSHSL

The Minnesota State High School League teams are classified by sport and activity for postseason competition and performances every two years. Competitive section placements are determined by enrollment and geography (as determined by MSHSL Board policy).

MSHSL enrollment is determined by the schools Minnesota Department of Education enrollment in year one in grades 9 – 12 minus 40 percent of their educational benefit. (free and reduced lunch)

JO VB 4/2/23

There was a lot of JO volleyball played over the weekend at the Sauk Centre gyms.
In the varsity championship bracket in the semi finals, Sauk Centre 16's over Melrose.
Sauk Centre 17's over Paynesville.
The Sauk Centre 16's and 17's ended up as co-champions.

The Melrose softball team is set to go for the season ahead. Melrose coach Kristie Ekstrom has more about the team.

The Melrose track and filed team competed indoors in Bemidji Tuesday. Melrose had Izzy Janenicke take 1st place in the long jump and the triple jump.

Whenever the season starts, the Sauk Centre softball team will be ready. Coach TJ Schmiesing has more about the team.

Hopefully one of these days the Sauk Centre baseball team will get outside and start the baseball season. The team is looking forward to playing some games. The first game is scheduled for April 4. Sauk Centre baseball coach Bryan Zollman had this to say about the team.

Sauk Centre BBB 3/15/23

In the Section 6AA boys basketball semi final game, Albany defeated Sauk Centre 63-49. Albany led at the half 27-19.
For Sauk Centre, Jay Neubert with 21, Andy Drevlow 9, Ethan Riley 8.

Albany will play Milaca Friday at 7:00 at St. Cloud State for the Section 6AA championship.

It's down to the final four teams in the Section 6AA boys basketball playoffs. The Sauk Centre boys team will play Albany at 6:00 Wednesday at St. John's in the semi final. The winner of the game will play in the Section 6AA championship game Friday. The winner Friday goes to the State tournament.

The Sauk Centre boys basketball team played a good game and won in the quarter finals in the Section 6AA tournament. Sauk Centre beat Osakis in an exciting game 58-55. Osakis had the half time lead 32-25.
Sauk Centre had Jay Neubert with 18, Ethan Riley 13, Andy Drevlow 12 and Matthew Warring 11.
Sauk Centre will play Albany Wednesday night at 6:00 at St. John's in the Section 6AA semi final.
Albany beat St. Cloud Cathedral 82-50.

Printed programs 3/8/23

Many fans that go to games like to have a printed program in their hands to look at a team's roster. But many venues are having you scan the roster on your phone. Some fans can't or don't do that. As time goes on, you are going to see more of that.
Here's how you can print off your own roster at home and bring it with you to the game.
For example... Sauk Centre girls basketball vs Albany Friday night.
Scroll down on MIDMNSPORTS and click on West Central Conference. Under "school activity calendar" click "Sauk Centre". Toward the top, click "rosters". Click on "basketball girls varsity". Click on "Sauk Centre". In the upper right, click print.
To get the Albany roster. Scroll down on MIDMNSPORTS and click on Granite Ridge Conference. At the top, click on "member school". To the right, under calendars, click on Albany. Toward the top, click on "roster" and go through the same steps as you did for the Sauk Centre roster.

A strong second half gave Sauk Centre the win Tuesday night in the Section 6AA girls basketball playoffs. Sauk Centre beat Holdingford 66-50. Holdingford led at the half 32-30.
