It's the first meeting of the year between the Sauk Centre and Melrose boys basketball teams. Sauk Centre will play at home vs Melrose Thursday night. The JV game starts at 5:45, the varsity at 7:15. Both games will be broadcast on MIDMNSPORTS, the varsity game also on 105.5 FM radio.

The Sauk Centre/Melrose Defenders wrestling team competed in Fregus Falls Saturday.
The Defenders took 1st place as a team.

The Melrose girls basketball team built a 10 point lead at halftime and went on to beat Concordia Academy 64-48 Thursday night at the Crusader Classic at St. Cloud Cathedral. Melrose led 32-22 at the half.
Melrose had Lex Vesel with a good shooting game with 5 threes and 22 points. Grace Herdering with 14.
