The Section 6AA softball playoffs begin Monday, the higher seeded team will play at home. The first round of the playoffs is a single elimination. The losing team Monday will end their season. The winning teams on Monday will play again Tuesday and will begin an 8 team double elimination tournament.

Sauk Centre baseball 5/19/23

A big win for Sauk Centre between two teams in Section 6AA. Sauk Centre won at Osakis 10-9.
Osakis had bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th, a ground ball was hit in the hole on the right side, Sauk Centre second baseman Neil Stadsvold got to the grounder and got the out to win the game.
Sauk Centre trailed 9-6 going to the 7th. Catcher Evan Zales had a big two out, 2 run hit. Sauk Centre scored 4 in the inning.
Matthew Warring went 4/4, Hunter Danielson had 2 hits. Zac Bick threw the last two innings for the win.
Sauk Centre has a double header at home Monday vs West Central starting at 2:00.

Melrose baseball 5/19/23

In baseball Friday, Albany won at Melrose 11-6.
Melrose will play Monday night vs St. Cloud Cathedral at Faber field.

A double header sweep for the Sauk Centre softball team. Sauk Centre beat Montevideo 15-5 and 19-3.
Sauk Centre had Emily Peters hit 3 home runs, going 5 for 6. Lindsey Bailey had 5 hits, Hailey Hokanson pitched both wins.

Melrose had Ryan Elfering pitch 6 innings for the win. RBI hits for Isaac Rosenberger and Breydon Dobmeier.

The Sauk Centre baseball team picked up a win Friday night at the Max bat, wood bat invite. Sauk Centre shut out BBE 4-0. Matthew Warring with the 7 inning win. Sauk Centre had a 3-0 lead when the BBE pitcher walked in three straight runs. Sauk Centre added a run in the 7th, Hunter Broich got on with a hit, then Eli Fletcher hit a ball of the fence for a RBI double. Fletcher also singled earlier in the game.

Softball Saturday, St. Cloud Cathedral beat Sauk Centre 4-0.

The Sauk Centre softball team played at Albany Friday afternoon. Albany won the game 10-0 in 5 innings.

Softball 5/11/23

It was a well played game in softball Thursday. Melrose won at home over Sauk Centre 5-3.
For Melrose, Kaydence Bertram had 2 hits including a RBI double and had a fantastic play at third during the game. Paige Gruber knocked in a run with a double, Ellie Grieve with the win.

Sauk Centre football

Sauk Centre will have a new football coach next season. Curtis Krump will take over the head coach position, taking over from coach Charlie Warring, who is stepping aside. Coach Krump has been the defensive coach the past several seasons.

In the make up baseball game Wednesday, Melrose won at home over Sauk Centre 1-0.
For Melrose, Max Wehlage led off the thurd inning with a double, the run came in on a sac fly from Connor Anderson. Isaac Rosenberger shut out Sauk Centre for the second time this season.
Melrose plays again Friday at Benson in a double header.
Sauk Centre will play BBE in Elrosa Friday at 7:00.

For Sauk Centre, Matthew Warring started and pitched into the 7th, striking out 6. Warring also hit a 3 run home run. Eli Fletcher had 2 hits and scored 3 times. Cole Roering had 2 RBI, Hunter Broich and Neal Stadsvold had RBI hits.
