A very good win for the Sauk Centre baseball team Friday. Sauk Centre shut out Albany 8-0.
For Sauk Centre, Matthew Warring started and pitched into the 7th, striking out 6. Warring also hit a 3 run home run. Eli Fletcher had 2 hits and scored 3 times. Cole Roering had 2 RBI, Hunter Broich and Neal Stadsvold had RBI hits.

The Melrose softball team split their double header at West Central Friday. West Central won the first game 5-3, Melrose won the second game 12-6.
For Melrose, Ellie Grieve pitched all 14 innings in the double header, striking out 8 in game 2.
In the second game, Melrose scored 8 runs in the 5th inning to take the lead. Paige Gruber had 3 hits and knocked in 2 runs. Kaydence Bertram had 3 hits and 2 RBI, Allie Hoppe drove in a run with a double.

The Melrose softball team is 2-0 on the season after a non conference win at Paynesville 8-5 Monday afternoon.
For Melrose: Ellie Grieve pitched the win with 6 strike outs, Jazmin Finken knocked in 2 runs with 2 hits, Allie Hoppe had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Kari Rademacher had 2 hits and Hannah Hoppe had a 2 RBI triple.
Melrose goes to West Central on Friday for their next game.

After 12 hours of volleyball in Becker on Sunday, the Melrose JO volleyball team won the championship in the 17"s Gold Bracket. Melrose defeated Sauk Centre in the title match 2-0, 25-23 and 25-11.
Melrose beat New Richland 2-0 in the semi final, Sauk Centre beat Hermantown 2-0 in the other semi.
