Sauk Centre baseball 6/1/26

The Sauk Centre American Legion baseball team will play their first game Monday night at Osakis at 6:30. The game will be broadcast on MIDMNSPORTS. No radio. Click on Live broadcast in the upper left to watch the game.

The Melrose Legion baseball team, the Sauk Centre and Melrose Legion softball teams will play their first games on Thursday this week.

Section golf 6/1/26

The Sauk Centre and Melrose boys and girls golf teams will play in the Section 6AA meet at Blackberry in Sartell Monday. The boys at 8:00 AM, the girls at noon.

In the Section 6AA softball tournament, it was Kimball over Melrose 6-3. Melrose will play again Tuesday morning at 11:00 vs Holdingford at St. Ben's. That will be an elimination game.
Melrose scored a run in the 4th inning on a bunt single from Celia Schoenberg scoring JJ Mayers. In the 5th, Morgan Funk with a hit and then scored on a hit from Gabi Schoenberg. Melrose had back to back triples in the 6th. Allie Hoppe tripled, followed by another triple from Celia Schoenberg.

Section 6AA baseball 5/21/26

In the Section 6AA baseball tournament, it was Wadena Deer Creek over Melrose 6-5. The Melrose baseball season will come to an end.
The first run for Melrose was a home run hit by Nolan Fleischhacker in the 2nd. In the bottom of the 3rd, Melrose took a 2-1 lead on a hit from Zach Rieland. With the game tied a 2, Zach Rieland gave Melrose the lead again with another RBI hit. In the bottom of the 7th, Melrose trailed 6-3, with 2 outs, Jackson Mayers hit a 2 run home run to make it 6-5.

The Sauk Centre baseball team played at Spectrum Thursday. Spectrum won the game 3-0 to end the Sauk Centre season. Bentley Ritter had the team's only hit.

The Melrose softball team played very well in the Section tournament game Tuesday. Melrose beat Foley 3-2. Melrose will play again Thursday vs Kimball at 3:00 at St. Ben's. Note game time 3:00. That's a change from the original schedule. Kimball has graduation on Thursday.

The Melrose baseball team swept a double header at home over West Central 10-1 and 11-1 in 5 innings.
Game 1: Carson Theiler had 3 hits and 3 RBI, Eddie Torres and Tyler Nathe RBI hits. Tyler Nathe pitched the win.
Game 2: Jack Tschida pitched 5 innings for the win. Luke Funk had 2 hits and 3 RBI.

It was Montevideo sweeping the double header at Sauk Centre 3-0 and 9-3.
Game 1: Sauk Centre had 2 hits, Leyton Fuchs and Eli Yarke.
Game 2: Alex Trierweiler had 3 hits.

For the second time this season, Eden Valley Watkins scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Sauk Centre took a 1-0 lead in the 6th inning when Gabi Marthaler scored on a wild pitch.
Sauk Centre had hits from Jaden Lahr, Jenna Riley and Leah Peters.

Melrose collected 12 hits in their win over Osakis.
Melrose scored 9 runs in the 1st inning. JJ Mayers knocked in 2 runs in the 1st with a triple. Mayers drove in 2 more with a single in the 4th. Kaitlyn Klasen a RBI double, Allie Hoppe a run scoring hit, Emalee Klasen a RBI double, Gretta Hellerman brought in a run, Gabby Schoenberg RBI double.

The Melrose baseball team took an early lead at Holdingford Friday. But Holdingford scored 6 runs in the 3rd and went on to beat Melrose 9-6 at Holdingford.
Melrose had RBI hits from Jackson Mayer, Carson Theiler, Tyler Nathe and Zach Reiland.

A win to close out the regular season for the Sauk Centre softball team. Sauk Centre won at Osakis 7-3. Sauk Centre had 16 hits in the game. 3 hits each for Nadia Stadsvold, Jenna Riley, Lily Sunderman. 2 hits for Gabi Marthaler, Kendra Korton, Leah Peters. Jenna Riley gave up just 3 hits in the win.

Melrose had 16 hits in the game, Carson Theiler had 4 of them.

Melrose baseball 5/5/26

In the first game of a baseball double header at Melrose Tuesday, Montevideo beat Melrose 6-5.
Melrose took the lead with 4 runs in the 6th inning. Carson Theiler knocked in 2 runs with a hit, Jackson Mayers with a RBI double. Luke Funk had 2 hits.

Game 2: Melrose gave Montevideo their conference loss with a 4-2 win.
Melrose took a 2-0 lead with Zach Rieland bringing 2 runs with a base hit in the 6th.
Back to back doubles in the 7th put Melrose in front. Tyler Nathe doubled then a double from Nolan Fleischhacker drove in the run. A sac fly from Riley Elfering gave Melrose a 4-2 lead.

A 6 run 6th inning for the Melrose softball team in their win at home Monday over Albany 10-2. The inning was highlighted by a 3 run home run from JJ Mayers. Mayers had 3 hits in the game. Allie Hoppe with 2 hits, RBI, Aleah Funk 2 hits, Emalee Klasen had a two out RBI hit to give Melrose the lead in the 4th. Raelyn Frieler 2 hits, RBI. Kaitlyn Klasen struck out 7 in the win.
