Melrose softball 4/18/24

The Melrose softball team goes to 6-0 on the season with a come from behind win Thursday at home. Melrose beat West Central 6-3.
Trailing 3-0, Melrose scored 5 times in 4th inning and added 1 more in the 6th. Melrose pitcher Ellie Greive retired 10 straight batters to end the game.
Melrose will play at West Central Monday at 3:00 to complete their double header.

Sauk Centre softball 4/18/24

The Sauk Centre softball team swept the double header at Montevideo Thursday. Sauk Centre won both games in 5 innings, 12-2 and 13-1.
In the first game, Emily Peters 3/4 4 RBI, Jenna Riley 2/4 4 RBI, Gabi Marthaler 2/3 1 RBI.
Game 2, Lanna Walter 3/3 4 RBI, Peyton Borgman, Gabi Marthaler and Jenna Riley 3/3. Jenna Riley pitched both wins.

The Melrose baseball team with two wins at home Monday over West Central 15-0 in 5 innings and 10-1.
In game 1, Ryan Herdering 4 innings, 6 K's. Westin Middendorf had a hit and 2 RBI. Ryan Herdering a hit and 3 RBI. Jonathan Renteria-Raya 1 hit.
Game 2, Breydon Dobmeier 3 innings 5K's, Connor Anderson 3 innings 8 K's. Isaac Rosenberger 1 hit and 3 RBI. Breydon Dobmeier a hit and two runs scored. Daniel Spanier 1 hit.

Melrose had Hannah Hoppe with a 4 hit game, Ellie Grieve pitched the win, striking out 7 and zero walks. Grieve also knocked in 2 runs with a double.

A couple of West Central Conference wins for the Melrose baseball team. Melrose won at home over Benson 8-0 and 14-1 in 6 innings in game two.
Isaac Rosenberger and Sam Wehlage (game 1) and Connor Anderson and Breydon Dobmeier (game 2) combined for 24 strikeouts and 0 earned runs.

Melrose baseball 4/5/24

A non conference win at home to begin the season for the Melrose baseball team. Melrose beat Browerville 4-1.
For Melrose, Isaac Rosenberg knocked in the first run with a hit. Westin Middendorf gave Melrose the lead with a sac fly. Max Wehlage brought home the final 2 runs with a two out hit in the 6th.
Ryan Herdering started and got the win, pitching 3 innings. Max Wehlage threw 4 innings and struck out 10.
