PC boys hockey

A win Saturday afternoon for the Prairie Centre boys hockey team, Prairie Centre won at Bagley 4-1.
The Prairie Centre boys play again Tuesday against Wadena/Deer Creek in Long Prairie.
For PC, Noah MacDonald had two goals, Andrew Bick scored and Brady Miller had an empty net goal.

PC girls hockey

Make it four wins in a row for the Prairie Centre girls hockey team. After winning Friday night, the team went to Austin Saturday afternoon, Prairie Centre had 51 shots on goal and beat Austin 5-3. The win puts Prairie Centre at (6-6) on the season.

A 5 goal third period gave the Prairie Centre girls hockey team big lead as the team went on to beat Northern Lakes 8-2 Friday night in a game played in Wadena.

Melrose GBB

The Melrose girls basketball team edged out Montevideo 49-47 Friday night at the Melrose gym. Melrose is (3-3) and will play Tuesday at home against Paynesville.
Trailing by 4 at half 24-20, Melrose rallied to win by 2. Makiya Luetmer led the scoring with 17 points, Ashley Rademacher had 10 points and 5 steals, Maddy Dufner and Cassie Klaphake had 8 a piece, Sydney Straka had 10 rebounds.

Not a difficult night for the Sauk Centre girls basketball team to up their record to (7-0), Sauk Centre won at home over Benson 69-20.
The Sauk Centre girls are at Osakis Tuesday.

It’s a (4-0) start for the Melrose boys basketball team, Melrose won a close one at New London Spicer 59-54. The game was tied at half time 21-21.

There’s a big wrestling invitational  Friday and Saturday at Cass Lake Bena high school. The Sauk Centre/Melrose team will be there starting at 9:00 am.

The big game went to the Sauk Centre girls basketball team Thursday at the Sauk Centre gym, Sauk Centre beat New London Spicer 69-58.
Sauk Centre goes to (6-0) overall and will play at home Friday night against Benson.
Sauk Centre got off to a quick 14-2 lead, NLS came back to within 3 points in the first half but Sauk Centre got it back to an 8 point lead at half 37-29.
Maesyn Thiesen was solid all night, scoring 20 points to lead the team, Julia Dammann had 15, Kelsey Peschel made 4 threes in the second half for 12 and Tori Peschel had 12.

Sauk Centre BB

A good win on the road for the Sauk Centre boys basketball team, Sauk Centre won at ACGC 62-49. Sauk Centre led 29-17 at half time.
Next up, the Sauk Centre boys are home Tuesday with Minnewaska and here on MIDMNSPORTS.
Leading the scoring was Cade Neubert with 17 points, Steven Namvar 11, Jake Jennissen 10, Matt Traeger 8. 11 players scored for Sauk Centre.
