Thursday sports

It’s girls basketball Thursday night on MIDMNSPORTS as the Sauk Centre girls play at Melrose. The game will also be on 105.5 FM radio.

In boys hockey, the Prairie Centre boys will play Breckenridge at the Sauk Centre Civic Arena.

One more win and the overall record climbs to (18-0). The Sauk Centre girls won at home Tuesday over Morris 58-35. Sauk Centre led at halftime 29-7, holing Morris to just two baskets in the first half.
Sauk Centre plays at Melrose on Thursday and here on MIDMNSPORTS.
Sauk Centre had Tori Peschel top the scoring with 17 points, Michaela Dammann with 9, Kelsey Peschel and Maesyn Thiesen with 8 each.

PC girls hockey

In the final game of the regular season, the Prairie Centre girls played MPLS Tuesday night in Sauk Centre. MPLS won the game 3-1.

The Prairie Centre girls will now enter play in the Section playoffs that start Feb. 10.

PC boys hockey

The Prairie Centre boys hockey team played at Park Rapids Tuesday night, the teams skated to a 3-3 overtime tie.
Prairie Centre is (8-11-1) and will play again Thursday against Breckenridge in Sauk Centre.

Melrose GBB

Any win on the road is a good one and the Melrose girls basketball got one Tuesday night. Melrose won at ACGC 63-39.
The Melrose girls go to (10-9) overall and will play at home Thursday against Sauk Centre and here on MIDMNSPORTS.

Melrose BBB

Back to back overtime games for the Melrose boys basketball team. After their exciting OT win Monday night, Melrose traveled to Albany Tuesday night.
Melrose led at half time 31-24 but Albany battled back to send the game into overtime tied at 48-48. Then Albany outscored Melrose 10-6 in the overtime to win the game 58-54.
Melrose is now (15-2) on the season and will play at Montevideo Friday.
Melrose was led in scoring by Reegan Nelson with 23 points on 9/10 shooting. Damon Van Beck with 12, Preston Kaeveny 8.
