Friday football

Because of the weather, the Sauk Centre football game will start at 7:30.

It’s the season opener for the football teams Friday night.
The Sauk Centre football team is at home against Royalton, kickoff at 7:30.
The Sauk Centre game will be on MIDMNSPORTS, the game will NOT be on the radio, 105.5 FM is broadcasting the LYNX basketball game.

Melrose football opens up the season on the road at Montevideo, kickoff at 7:00.

Sauk Centre voleyball

Sauk Centre fell behind 1-0 in their match a BOLD Thursday night, after that, Sauk Centre won 3 straight sets and won the match 3-1. 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.
The top hitters for Sauk Centre were Hanna Dammann and Nicole Kortan with 10 each, Kenzie Schmiesing had 8, Tori Peschel 7. Kelsey Peschel with 22 digs, Julia Dammann with 5 ace serves.
Sauk Centre is home Tuesday with ACGC.

Melrose volleyball

After dropping the first set at ACGC Thursday night, the Melrose volleyball team controlled the rest of the night and came away with a win 3-1. 22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-10.
A big night of hitting for senior Mia Meyer with 22 kills, Mashaye Tschida with 10 and Kiana Wiechmann had 6 kills.
Setter Makiya Luetmer with 47 set assists, Kelsey Fleischhacker led the way with 19 digs, Greta Klaphake had 4 ace serves.
Melrose plays at home next Tuesday with Montevideo and here on MIDMNSPORTS.

Melrose girls tennis

A good win for the Melrose girls tennis team Thursday, Melrose won at Morris 4-3.
A strong day for the Melrose doubles teams, Haiden Rausch and Hanna Wiechmann won at #1. The #2 doubles team of Camryn Brinkman and Chelsey Wieling, plus the #3 team of Natalie Wilwerding and Kirsten Dragseth won their matches.
#2 singles player Allie Toenies won in straight sets.

Another win for the Sauk Centre girls swimming and diving team Thursday night, this time winning at Albany 72-30.

Sauk Centre swimming and diving

A nice win at home Tuesday night for the Sauk Centre girls swimming and diving team, Sauk Centre beat Staples/Motley 74-36.
Sauk Centre sophomore Kali Sayovitz set two new pool records, in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke.

Melrose girls tennis

The Melrose girls tennis team played LQPV Tuesday at the Melrose courts, LQPV won the match 6-1.
Winning for Melrose at #2 singles was Allie Toenies 6-2, 6-2.

The Sauk Centre girls tennis team had a home match against Montevideo Tuesday afternoon. Montevideo won the match 5-2.
Winning for Sauk Centre was Maria Jennissen at #2 singles and Emily Primus at #3 singles.

The Melrose swimming and diving team had a good win Tuesday night at home against Alexandria, Melrose won 104-82.
Melrose senior Mikayla Von Wahlde set a pool record in the 100 backstroke.
