Melrose baseball

Just the one run for the Melrose baseball team in their non conference game with Albany. Albany won the game 9-1 Friday in a game played in Farming.
Back to back doubles got the run for Melrose. Will Stone doubled and then Brady Birch knocked in the run with a double. Birch had the lone RBI in Thursday’s win.
Melrose plays Monday at home against BOLD, then Tuesday at Benson and here on MIDMNSPORTS.

Sauk Centre baseball

It’s a (2-0) start for the Sauk Centre baseball team, Sauk Centre won at Osakis 10-6 Friday afternoon in a non conference game. Sauk Centre plays at home on Monday with Wadena/Deer Creek and on MIDMNSPORTS.
Sauk Centre had Luke Van Beck and Dylan Haskamp team up to pitch the win. Van Beck went the first 4.2, Haskamp finished up, striking out 6.
Haskamp had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Noah Fletcher hit a double and scored twice, Van Beck and Alex Kowski had hits.

Sauk Centre softball

The Sauk Centre softball team is now (2-1) on the year after Friday’s game at Albany. Albany won 13-3 in 6 innings.
Sauk Centre plays softball at Wadena/Deer Creek on Monday.

Melrose softball

The Melrose softball team put 17 runs on the board and won their third straight game, this time winning at Milaca 17-3. Melrose is (3-0) on the season and will play at BOLD on Tuesday.
Melrose pitcher Kenzie Meyer went the distance, striking out 7 and giving up 5 hits. Two freshman came through at the plate, Makiya Leutmer was 3 for 4 and 2 RBI, Tami Rademacher had 2 hits and drove in 4.
