The Melrose boys basketball team connected on 12 three point baskets and had a very good win at home over Litchfield 79-71, that puts Melrose at 11-7 overall. Ben Klaphake made 5 three’s and led the scoring with 17 points. Seth Noll, Colton Meyer and Cole VanBeck had 11 each, Tyler Breaglemann with 10, Cesar Cervantes added 9.
It was a difficult night for the Sauk Centre girls basketball team as they went down to Montevideo. The game went into overtime with Montevideo winning 74-72. Keep in mind, the Montevideo girls are 11-4 overall. Ali Peterson 20, Madison Greenwaldt 13, Amanda Weir 13, Madison Moritz 11.That puts Sauk Centre at 12-3 on the season with another tough game coming up Friday night when the team goes to Osakis. The Osakis girls won Thursday night over Swanville 63-34. We’ll have the Sauk Centre girls at Osakis game on MIDMNSPORTS Friday night.
TheĀ Melrose girls basketball team with a win at Benson 60-43 to put their record at 9-7 overall. Emily Goerdt 22, Justine Revermann 20, Gabi Sawyer and Emily Tschida with 8 a piece.
Prairie Centre hockey got two goals a piece from Zach Pierskalla and Adam Froseth, Preston Pung also scored to give Prairie Centre a 5-4 win over MBA. The hockey team is 13-10 on the season.
